Say Cheese!

Yesterday I got pictures taken with Aaron and his family. We went to a park by his house to get them taken. It's a really pretty park with a stream and bridges and, of course, a play ground. This is the good old kind of playground too! It has sand instead of those crappy wood chips I hate so much. Hardly any play grounds have that any more. Any way, here's one of the lovely pictures. They are not all done so there will be more to come with everyone. :)

This IS spring in utah

Time for a little ranting.
I'm sick of hearing about everyone complaining about the snow. Okay, I'll admit it, I too have been just such a snow complainer, but not like others who do it publicly on facebook, over and over. I get it already. Chill. In the snow! haha haters
I love sunny warm days as much as the next beach bum wanna be, but I can and will wait till it is supposed to happen. Which in Utah isn't till Mayish. This is how it as ALWAYS been in Utah. It is what we do. Long cold winters. Short HOT summers. There are no happy mediums here. That's how it is, has been, and always will be.
Still having snowy days in April is a blessing. This means little chance of drought this summer. Yay! Bring on the LONG hot showers and green lawns!
Plus the snow is GORGEOUS when the sun breaks through the clouds and shins on the snow, making it look sparkly and marvelous!
Summer will come soon enough. And I'm sure that the same people who complain publicly about the snow will do the same for the heat. Never satisfied? Yeah, me too. :)

*LET IT SNOW!!!

The optimist in me

Today is one of those days where I just love everything. I'm very appreciative of my life and everything in it. So I'm going to ramble on my thoughts of happiness. Enjoy.
I have had quite the rough patch in the last six months or so, to say the least. I could go around pouting and complaining about how everything sucks and no one would blame me for this. It's probably even half expected of me at this point. But what good would that do? That wouldn't fix anything. What a waste of time.
I feel life is what you make of it. If you complain and mope around about how life sucks, then it will suck. But, if you take the hits and keep going with a smile on your face all the while, life will be good. Not necessarily easier, but good. Life isn't meant to be easy. There will be times in everyone's life where they are pushed so hard they feel they will break if anything else happens. We just have to keep going and remember that if we truly were not strong enough to handle it, it would not happen. Also, we never ever have to deal with our trials alone. There is always someone who is there ready and waiting to help, all we have to do is ask. There is someone who knows EXACTLY how we feel and what we are going through. There is always someone to talk to about it. I think you can figure out who I am talking about ;)
I have had a very certain knowledge of these things for the past couple years. I learned the truthfulness of it all through experience. Lately, I think I forgot. I never doubted it, I just didn't think of it. Instead I complained, and let my self become discouraged. Let me just tell you, it only makes things worse to be that way. I choose happiness over that any day :) I apologize to those of you who have had to deal with my negativity for the last couple months or so.
Something else I believe is that you choose how you feel. That is one of the best lessons my mom taught me over and over again in the 19 years I had with her. It's something I will always remember her for. It's kinda like the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." You are the only person who has control over your feelings. You choose whether something will make you happy, sad, mad, or whatever. It's a conscious decision you make. So choose not to get offended, not to get mad. Choose happiness always.
This also reminds me of a very good and popular quote by Joseph B. Wirthlin "Come what may, and love it" Hard things are going to happen. No doubt about it. Choose to react to trials with gratefulness instead of getting discouraged. Be happy for the trails. They only make you stronger. And through it all, be grateful for what you do have.
Life goes on whether we like it or not, so like it :) Life can be a very beautiful thing if you let it.
Alright, I've rambled on long enough. I think I had to write this all more for myself than for anyone else. I needed the reminder. :)
Smile and mean it! :D

Little sleep here, little sleep there

So, here I sit
bored out of my everlovin mind
while Aaron sleeps in my bed
He's so adorable when he sleeps! :)
See look > > >
Awww!
I guess I have to entertain myself tonight
My neighbor has really loud bass speakers right against the thin wall that we share and it's on all the time.
I pretty much hate him.
He's watching a movie right now and I can hear it very clearly
I can't sleep through that
I Don't know how Aaron does it.
He can sleep any where, any time.
And he does.
Proof > > >
Ha!

But I love him, so it's okay. :D

A day for celebrating.

I am done with school for the semester! No school for almost four weeks! Hurray!
The final I had today only took me 15 minutes to take. That's a good sign I think. I'm pretty sure I did a good job on it. Oh yes.
Time to get into the Christmas spirit, now that I don't have school to drag me down. :)

Party time! Sh-ya!

Sad day

Today I suffered the loss of my precious violin bow. He will be missed. We had some good times. The horse hairs were brittle and weak, they snapped simultaneously under pressure. Some hairs were strong enough to withstand, but the majority are just a frazzled mess now. I miss that little bow already.
I do have a back up bow from my old violin, but it is dirty and does not play well. I didn't know in my early violin days that you are not supposed to touch the hairs or the oils from your hands make it all gross and the sound quality suffers.
I can clean the old bow and it will be back to normal, but I lost my rosin a couple years ago in my high school orchestra class. With out rosin, the cleaned bow won't play. Guess I don't get to play my Christmas songs this year.
Poor little neglected violin. Haha
In other news, I scalded my tongue and throat on piping hot cocoa this morning at breakfast. Ouch. :p
