The weekend

We had a good weekend. Yes. Now let me explain why.

Friday towards the end of the day, Aaron texts me this picture randomly:

This is our fire pit. I told him right after we bought the house that I wanted to put our extra curved cinder blocks that we have around the pit. He got off work early on Friday and did it without saying a word to me. I was so surprised that I called him and asked if that was our fire pit. The good husband award definitely goes to Aaron! Awesome. He also burned our Christmas tree that has been sitting in here waiting to be taken care of. Three months later, it's finally gone! Yay! Then he pulled out all of the corn stalk stubs and rotten tomato plants the previous owners so kindly left for us. We couldn't do anything about those till now cause since we've lived there the ground has either been frozen, covered in snow, or muddy. I'm happy we are having an actual spring that we don't normally see here Now we can start working on our garden. Yay?
When I got home from work we went to the Home and Garden Show. We had free tickets cause my work did a booth there. It was fun, but cold since it was at the ice center. It made me long for summer time and all the times that there are booths around to check out. That's one of my favorite parts of summer.
Saturday was my future sister-in-laws bridal shower in Ogden. Aaron had to come with cause my brother bought tickets for everyone to go to The Hunger Games after. So he had to entertain himself for 2 hours while we showered and I tried on Bridesmaid dresses.
That all got over at around two, but dinner wasn't till six so we had a lot of time to kill. We went and got some ice cream, then drove out to Antelope Island. I had never been there before, which is kind of funny. I grew up maybe 15 minutes from the island, in Clearfield. My elementary school was named after it. They take the 6th graders on a field trip there every year. I ended up going to a different school for 5th and 6th grade, so I didn't make it to the field trip. It was so nice on the beach there. The weather was absolutely perfect. We had a good time.
Once we left, we decided we needed to have a Krispy Kreme donut (or two), since they were close by. Sadly the beautiful "fresh hot donuts" sign was not lit up. However, they were still melt in your mouth delicious.
After that we headed to dinner at Wingnuts with the fam. We had never eaten there before. Obviously they serve wings. They aren't fried wings though, so it's a little different, but still very tasty and messy.
We then all walked across the street to the movie theater and enjoyed our show. Really. I liked it a lot. Sure, there were a few nit picky things that didn't follow the book that bothered me (such as the color of Katniss' eyes!), and it was rushed, but it's always that way when it's a book made into a movie. They can't fit it all in, though they tried. It was 2 1/2 hours. We didn't know it would be so long! But they really did do a better job then most other books made into movies. It followed the story line very well. The actors were great too. I was so glad they didn't go super cheap and get crappy actors and bad effects like Harry Potter and Twilight.

And that was our weekend. Bet yours wasn't as cool as ours ;)

Have a good week

Every other day.

This little girl makes my day every other day. We babysit her a few days a week, and we love it. I look forward to getting to snuggle her. She is such a sweet little girl. Even when she has a blow out, we still love her. Even though she poops every time I hold her, without fail, I still love to hold her. She's such a good little baby, and never cries when we watch her (hope I didn't just jinx that). Happy times. I'm so excited to watch her grow up. She'll be a beautiful woman for sure, just like mama. So that's my little shout out to my niece, Brooke. Love ya!

She's snoring here. So darned cute.
Please take note of the onesie that I may or may
not have (but probably did) buy for her.
I  agree Brooke, I am the best. ;)

On a completely different note, my dog has this addiction to looking outside. I made a bench to put under the bay window for decorations sake, he has claimed this as his lookout bench. This is when our neighbors poodle was outside.

Apparently our blinds also serve as a good chin rest for him. He doesn't mind.

Me oh my

Happy Pi Day to one and all!!
Celebrate by going to get yourself a free slice of the good stuff at Village Inn! You get a free slice of pie with any purchase every Wednesday. Your purchase can be something as small as a drink, or a slice of pie for someone you love. How magical is it that Pi Day fell on Free Slice of Pie Day this year? Pretty magical, I think. Although it will be an even more magical day in 2015. 3-14-15. I'll have to have a big pi party or something that day. It's bound to be fantastic. Now, here's a clip to help you get in the holiday spirit. It's not the best quality, but it will do. Enjoy!

Tick tock....

I can not put into words the amount of hatred I have for daylight savings. However, I can explain why:  To start off, it drives me absolutely crazy. It takes me so long to get used to it every time. I hate losing that 1 hour every year. Sure, gaining it back is better, but it still messes with my sleep schedule, and my mind. I'm soooo tired today. I feel incredibly drained. Also, this day is going by 10 times slower than normal. I swear it should be over by now. I'm even leaving 2 hours early today. Tick tock, tick tock. I understand why it was started, and that's all fine and dandy. It was a logical thing, once upon a time. It no longer makes sense to continue this ridiculous ritual. If I could stand temperatures of 100+ degrees, (and who in their right mind would want to? Ick.) I MIGHT actually be tempted to move to Arizona just to be rid of it. Just staying there for 2 days was more than enough to keep me away. I do not understand why every time that they try to pass a bill to end this dreadful thing, they say no. What the what? Why? Maybe because it might confuse some people at first. So? They'd get over it. They'd get used to it. Better to have to get used to something different one time, then twice a year. If it was really that disastrous, would it be that difficult to start doing it again? Maybe they are worried people would be confused with what time zone they are in. Well, then maybe every state should do it at the same time. Problem solved. If only I ran the world...... One day..... Haha.

Loves for every one, except those who keep forcing this evil time change on us....

I can see clearly now!

I can finally wear contacts again. Thank heavens! I haven't been able to wear them in over a year. They would get so uncomfortable and blurry after just a couple hours. I like my glasses, I just don't want to have to wear them every single day. My eyes are my favorite feature. I hope that doesn't sound too cocky, but I just know they are pretty, and bright. I'm okay with being cocky about this one thing. I never get compliments, or any sort of comments about them when I wear my glasses. I get compliments about having cute glasses a lot, but that's all. When I'm not wearing my glasses I get comments on how blue my eyes are constantly. People are always asking, if I have colored contacts. There have been several times when strangers have argued with me about it. Nope, sorry. All natural here. Don't be hatin'. So, really it's not my fault that I'm cocky, or better yet, confident about them. Any way, I finally got some contacts I can wear on Saturday. I don't have eye insurance, so that's why I put it off for so long. Since it's been so long, I am having to get used to them all over again. My eyes feel so tired. But hey, at least they look good again. :)  Well, that's really all I have to say for now. Mostly I am just bored and work and needed something to take up my time. Thank you for being that something. Now if the mail man would get here I  could get back to work....

Till next time blogger world.

As usual, loves for you all!

Thought ya'll might enjoy this. I was trying to figure out why the printer at work is acting up. Natuarlly I did a Google search. Here's what came up when I started to type my question.

Hey, it's a good question. :)
