The weekend

We had a good weekend. Yes. Now let me explain why.

Friday towards the end of the day, Aaron texts me this picture randomly:

This is our fire pit. I told him right after we bought the house that I wanted to put our extra curved cinder blocks that we have around the pit. He got off work early on Friday and did it without saying a word to me. I was so surprised that I called him and asked if that was our fire pit. The good husband award definitely goes to Aaron! Awesome. He also burned our Christmas tree that has been sitting in here waiting to be taken care of. Three months later, it's finally gone! Yay! Then he pulled out all of the corn stalk stubs and rotten tomato plants the previous owners so kindly left for us. We couldn't do anything about those till now cause since we've lived there the ground has either been frozen, covered in snow, or muddy. I'm happy we are having an actual spring that we don't normally see here Now we can start working on our garden. Yay?
When I got home from work we went to the Home and Garden Show. We had free tickets cause my work did a booth there. It was fun, but cold since it was at the ice center. It made me long for summer time and all the times that there are booths around to check out. That's one of my favorite parts of summer.
Saturday was my future sister-in-laws bridal shower in Ogden. Aaron had to come with cause my brother bought tickets for everyone to go to The Hunger Games after. So he had to entertain himself for 2 hours while we showered and I tried on Bridesmaid dresses.
That all got over at around two, but dinner wasn't till six so we had a lot of time to kill. We went and got some ice cream, then drove out to Antelope Island. I had never been there before, which is kind of funny. I grew up maybe 15 minutes from the island, in Clearfield. My elementary school was named after it. They take the 6th graders on a field trip there every year. I ended up going to a different school for 5th and 6th grade, so I didn't make it to the field trip. It was so nice on the beach there. The weather was absolutely perfect. We had a good time.
Once we left, we decided we needed to have a Krispy Kreme donut (or two), since they were close by. Sadly the beautiful "fresh hot donuts" sign was not lit up. However, they were still melt in your mouth delicious.
After that we headed to dinner at Wingnuts with the fam. We had never eaten there before. Obviously they serve wings. They aren't fried wings though, so it's a little different, but still very tasty and messy.
We then all walked across the street to the movie theater and enjoyed our show. Really. I liked it a lot. Sure, there were a few nit picky things that didn't follow the book that bothered me (such as the color of Katniss' eyes!), and it was rushed, but it's always that way when it's a book made into a movie. They can't fit it all in, though they tried. It was 2 1/2 hours. We didn't know it would be so long! But they really did do a better job then most other books made into movies. It followed the story line very well. The actors were great too. I was so glad they didn't go super cheap and get crappy actors and bad effects like Harry Potter and Twilight.

And that was our weekend. Bet yours wasn't as cool as ours ;)

Have a good week
Loves!
