So many days to get excited about this month! But today is one of the most exciting, after our six month anniversary of course. It's the first day of Spring! I love it! It's so nice and sunny outside today. Mmmmm and tomorrow it's supposed to be 60 DEGREES!!! Oh hurray! Bring on the warm weather, flip flops, and shorts! So happy for it. There are even little flowers starting to bloom in the yard, AND the grass is starting to turn green. It's usually still snowing here at this time of year. It snowy and cold till the end of May normally. I'm happy it's not and hopefully I don't jinx it! I am so excited for Bear Lake season to come around again. We didn't get to go much last year cause it was still kind of hard and depressing to be there but I think this year will be much better and I can't wait. Bear Lake has always been my second home and I love it so much. I hope we have lots of beach to play on. I have a feeling we will! I just want to get outside and camp and hike and play already! It's going to be a great summer, I just know it! :)
Actually, I find it quite easy. Green is a great color. I forgot it was St. Patricks Day till after I got to work. Luckily, my glasses are black and green. :)
Happy St. Patrick's Day! May the luck of the Irish be with you all!
3.14159..... That's as far as I can get with that. I always end up eating pie on pi day without thinking about it. We had leftover pizza pie for breakfast this morning. I don't know why my husband thinks that's a good breakfast, but whatcha gonna do? Eat some too? yes please! Surprisingly, it is an official holiday. So, happy Pi Day. Hope you had delicious pie! Yum yum!
We have been married for six months today. Now, I'm not normally one to celebrate fake half anniversaries or birthdays and other such nonsense, but I'm using this as an excuse to get out and go play. We are going to go to the hot springs and relax and have a good time tomorrow. Yep. So, six months later, and I still love Aaron very much. More actually. Not that that will ever stop. I'm so grateful to have him in my life. We are so blessed. Getting married to him was the best thing to ever happen to me. I'm pretty much the luckiest person alive. My husband is unquestionably the best around. You may beg to differ, but you would be very wrong. hehe ;) Well, that's all I have to say right now.
I loved him then, I love him now, and I will love him forever! :D
I had my first experience with Tim Tam Slams last week. Thanks to Sarah and Brian, Aaron's sister and Brother-in-law, who found Tim Tams at Wal-mart and gave us some for Valentines days. Tim Tams are rectangular chocolate covered cookies. For a Tim Tam Slam you mix up some hot Milo, which is kind of like hot chocolate, then bite off two opposite ends of a Tim Tam cookie stick one open corner in the Milo and suck through the other open corner like a straw. Once you get some Milo in your mouth, you shove the whole cookie in too. It's all melted and soft. All I have to say is YUM!!! Aaron's Brother Ben discovered these while on his mission in Australia.
Thanks Sarah for the greatest Valentines day treat! You're the best! :)
So, Valentines Day was just splendid. We celebrated on Saturday the 13th. We went to see Valentines Day the movie. It didn't get very good reviews, but I wanted to see it any way. I wasn't expecting much from it. Turns out, it's a really cute movie. I liked it a lot. It kinda dragged on a little, but was still great. There are a lot of stories to follow, but they all connect in some way. My favorite was Julia Roberts story, which isn't a major part of the movie, but it was sooo cute and unexpected. It made me tear up a little bit. Any way, after the movie we ate at Texas road house. We went at three so it wouldn't be busy. They had this deal going on for Valentines day that I thought was pretty funny. It was a two for fourty deal. haha Chili's is right down from the street from them with their two for twenty deal (but only if you go at the right time, which we suck at) But yeah, it was very yummy. Tons of food. After eating we went to play at Magical Moon Toys. If you live in Cache Valley and haven't gone there before, you are missing out. You can entertain yourself four hours! It's for kids, but I'm immature enough to have a great time there. haha But it's free and they have tons of toys out that you can just play with. However, if you have kids, leave them home. No way you're getting out of there with out spending money. Lots of it. I love that store. :) Sunday after church, we just relaxed. I made yummy Spinach mozzarella meat loaf for dinner. We watched The Notebook, and The Amazing Race and had a very nice relaxing day. Aaron got me two dozen long stemmed red roses and a nifty Jewelry holder. I got him some new socks. If you know him, you know he loves new socks, but they have to be squishy! haha So I didn't want to just be lame and just hand them to him. So I rolled them up like roses and made a bouquet out of them. It was very fun. I also got him some goodies to eat. Although I think I ate more of it than him :) It was the perfect weekend. I loved it so much. My husband is amazing and I'm so incredibly lucky.
So, when I burned myself, I just felt like an idiot, but Aaron felt very bad for me. He didn't want it to happen again. He is always warning me now "careful, the stove is hot" or "that's hot, don't burn yourself". Silly husby cares too much. So he says I'm not allowed to burn myself again. To make sure I don't, here was his solution:
All metal utensils. This was part of my Christmas presents. How cute is he? So now I can't melt a plastic cooking utensil. I'll just have to heat the metal up and then grab it. haha So pretty much, I have the best husband. He is very thoughtful. Hopefully theses will prevent me from posting about another burn. :) However, I almost did face plant it right into the fry vat at work last week, there's always a way. haha time for a new job! :)
The culprit. Notice how the end is melted. Evil pasta spoon! :)
A few days after. Those blisters were pretty massive.
How the doctor had us wrap it
It was really quite the ordeal to get this wrapped. thanks to my wonderful husband for helping me wrap it over and over. He did a great job!
Healing. A few weeks after.
Turns out my thumb, even though it was smaller, was worse than my hand. It took much longer to heal and hurt for a lot longer.
Now, My hands look almost normal. Just slightly red. I don't think it's even going to scar much thanks to the amazing burn cream the doctor gave us. Also, I don't have to wrap it any more, thank goodness.
So I've been trying to do mostly happy posts lately, but today will not be one of those.
My puppy Sissy died last night. She’s had a bad hacking cough for the past few days. My dad was going to take her to the vet today. I know it's just a dog, so it's not like I've been bawling about it all day or anything, but I have been thinking about her and been a little somber. I have SO many memories of her, here a just a few of them, followed by some pictures from my phone. (She is also in one of the pictures in the post before)
She's been my baby for 8 1/2 years. We bought her when she was 7 weeks old for my mom on her birthday. My mom was her favorite person out of everyone. She was pure bread Shitzu. The cutest, most fun, silliest, smartest, most stubborn, sneaky dog ever. She was the best little snuggle doggy ever. She slept on my feet every night from when I was 12 till I moved out at 18. I still wake up and think she is on my feet some mornings. She was my running partner and a great comforter when you needed her. Which she always somehow knew when you did. She loved meeting new people, and going for rides in the car, but always had to sit on your lap, even if you were trying to drive. She knew so many tricks that my mom spent tons of time teaching her. We ran out of ideas of what to teacher her next because she already knew it all. She would do anything for some Goldfish or Cheetos. The only food she didn't like was lettuce, oranges, and celery. She always begged for whatever food you had. She had a very tough tummy, having got into the trash can and eaten raw meat, chocolate, and food we threw out for a reason, but never getting sick from it. She had so much energy and loved wrestling with hands, feet, and blankets. She was my favorite of all my families’ pets we've had, which is saying a lot since we've always had at least one dog, and usually another animal or two.
I guess that ended up being more things about her than memories but that's what I've been thinking about. It wasn't going to be this long of a post but oh well. You're probably just thinking "this girl is nuts, going on and on about some dead dog" I'm sure most of you won't even read most of this post. I wouldn't blame you either. This dog meant nothing to you. But she sure was something special to me.
There you have it.
I loved her very much and will always remember her as my favorite puppy ever.
Over the weekend my grandma had a stroke. She is okay now, starting to walk and talk again. She'll most likely be fine. It's the second bigger stroke she has had. The first one was a lot worse than this one but was on the other side of her brain.
She is the only grandparent I have that is still alive. I love her so much. I look up to, and admire her more than anyone. She is my hero.
This is my dad's mom. My dad is the youngest of four boys in his family. When my dad was 11 (I'm not sure how old my grandma was) my grandpa died while sucba diving at their cabin at Bear Lake. My grandma got through that and raise all four boys on her own. She is such a wonderfully strong lady. So stubborn and independent, just like my mom was, and just like me. I have always loved how classy she is. My grandma loves Aaron so much, it makes me very happy. She is so cute with him. I took a really cute picture of them together over the summer I want to find and post. For now, these two pictures will have to do.
All the Isakson girls two years ago. There is one more Isakson girl now, Jessica, Kevin's wife!
We met in September of 2007 at a bonfire with some friends from our singles ward. After dating for about a month, Aaron broke up with me at Adam's park. A month later, after much convincing on his part (okay I gave in pretty easily), he got me to give him another chance. Thank goodness for that! Aaron proposed to me at Adam's park (to make up for the bad memory of dumping me there) in June of 2009. We were married in the Logan temple on September 5th, 2009. We are very much in love, and have a great life together. In August of 2010 we added Willis, a Miniature Pinscher, to our family. He is our baby, and we love him. We bought our first house in November of 2011. It's super cute, and just absolutely perfect for us. We are having a lot of fun making it our home. In July 2012, we decided Willis needed a friend to keep him company while we're at work. We then adopted dog #2, Bruce, a Miniature Poodle. He's lots of fun, and we're glad he picked us. We will be welcoming our next addition to the family spring 2013, little Lucy Claire. We couldn't be more thrilled about this little baby girl. This is our blog about our life together. Enjoy!
